Oprela Floor: Shop Floor App for Employees

What an employee sees on the kiosk and on their phone: card, QR, or PIN login, clock-in, tasks and plan, documents and 3D, pause, parts for an assembly, vacation, timesheet, and schedule.

Most shop floor employees don't need a full account with a login and password. They need to clock in, see their work, open drawings, and press "Done."

For this, there's Oprela Floor — the shop floor app. It works on a shared kiosk in the shop or on an employee's personal phone and shows only what that person is authorized to see.

This article is written for employees and for foremen explaining to newcomers how everything works.

Two Ways to Use

  • Kiosk — a tablet or computer on the shop floor, shared by everyone. Approach, log in, do what's needed, leave.
  • Personal phone — linked once, no need to log in every time thereafter.

Both methods can be combined: clock in at the kiosk, and manage tasks from the phone.

On the Kiosk

Login

Log in using the method allowed on this kiosk:

  • tap your card to the reader;
  • show your QR badge to the camera;
  • select yourself from the list and enter your PIN or password.

Clock In and Out

After logging in with a card or QR badge, the screen will show "Clock In" and "Clock Out" buttons. After clocking in/out, the kiosk session closes automatically.

If you log in with a PIN or password, these buttons might not be present. This is intentional: a colleague might enter a PIN, but a card is only in its owner's hands. The shop floor can remove this restriction in its rules.

Allowed Pages

Instead of clocking in/out, you can open pages you're allowed to access: my timesheet, my schedule, operator view, drawings.

If you don't press anything, the kiosk will log out automatically after a few minutes. The next person won't see your data.

On Your Phone

How to Connect Your Phone

There are two ways.

Through a responsible person. They show a QR code from your employee card. You tap "Scan QR" in the app, and your phone is linked.

Independently at the kiosk, if the shop floor allows it:

  1. Log in at the kiosk and tap "Connect My Phone".
  2. Confirm again that it's you: with a card, badge, PIN, or password.
  3. Scan the one-time QR in the app. It's valid for two minutes and for only one phone.
  4. The phone will show your name and four digits. Enter them on the kiosk.

The last step is for security. If a colleague photographs the QR, the code will appear on their phone, not yours, and they won't be able to confirm it on the kiosk without your session.

A new phone replaces the old one. The "Log Out" button on the phone unlinks it, and a new QR will be needed for re-entry.

Clocking In from Your Phone

Tap "Scan Kiosk QR" and scan the QR on the kiosk screen. It changes every half minute and is valid once.

There are no "Clock In" and "Clock Out" buttons on the phone: otherwise, they could be pressed from home. Clocking in is only possible on-site.

When you're on shift, the main screen shows how long you've been at work.

Operator View: How to Manage Work

  1. Scan the machine QR. Once is enough: the phone will remember it.
  2. Scan the product QR or open a task from the list.
  3. Tap "Start".
  4. After work, tap "Done" and specify the quantity, or "Scrap" with a reason.

If the foreman scheduled a task for a specific machine, "Start" will pick that one. To work on another, scan its QR when the batch is open.

Plan

The "Plan" tab shows all your tasks from the foreman: for today, tomorrow, and subsequent days, as well as available work on your machines.

Filters: All, Today, Tomorrow, Later, Available, and by operation.

Today's tasks can be opened and started immediately. Tomorrow's and later tasks can only be viewed: you'll be able to start them on their designated day.

Batch Documents

Open a task, and at the bottom, there will be a "Documents" section:

  • order notes;
  • 3D part and 3D product;
  • for a welded assembly — 3D assembly, assembly drawing, and weld plan.

The 3D model can be rotated, measured, and sectioned. Drawings can be zoomed with two fingers and moved with one, while a double-tap zooms in and out.

To see documents, "Drawings" access is required.

Pause

During an operation, tap "Pause" and choose a reason. The machine on which the operation is running pauses; you don't need to scan it again. "Resume" unpauses.

Standard Time

By default, you only see how long you've been working on an operation. The shop floor can choose whether or not to show the standard time; it's their decision.

Why It Took So Long

If an operation took noticeably longer than usual, after completion, the app will ask for a reason with large buttons: waited for material, retooling, machine problem. Choose one.

This is not a reproach. From these answers, the manager sees what hinders work and can eliminate it.

Parts for an Assembly and Where They Are Located

If your task is an assembly, for example, welding W-1, below the documents there's a block "Parts for this task". For each part, it shows:

  • photo;
  • how many are needed and how many are ready, e.g., "Needed 10 · ready 4";
  • where the batches are located: storage location code (e.g., 2.3.2.1 — zone, rack, shelf, cell), or the machine where the batch is currently in progress, or "ready — location not specified";
  • "Drawing" and "3D" buttons for that specific part.

This way, you don't have to search for parts all over the shop floor.

Put in Place

When a batch is ready, tap "Put in Place" on the task card and scan the location label or enter its code. The next person will see where to look.

Vacation and Sick Leave

On the main screen, you can see how many vacation days are left this year. Days are counted as working days according to your schedule.

  • "Request Vacation" — choose the type and dates. The request goes to the shop floor manager or HR department. Approved vacation is immediately visible in the schedule. Until the request is reviewed, it can be canceled.
  • "Report Sick Leave" — specify the dates. Sick leave is not approved: absence is entered immediately, and the manager is notified. No diagnosis needs to be specified.

You will receive a notification about the vacation decision.

My Timesheet and Schedule

  • My Timesheet — days of the month: clock-in, clock-out, hours worked, lateness.
  • My Schedule — shifts for two weeks ahead.

If there's an error in the timesheet, tell your foreman immediately, not at the end of the month.

Android App

In addition to the browser version, there's a separate Android app. It's lightweight and opens even without a network connection. What it can do beyond the browser version:

  • barcode and QR scanner that works offline and reads worn labels better;
  • background sending: if the phone is put in a pocket, saved actions will be sent automatically as soon as a network connection is available;
  • notifications: new task, task removed, foreman reviewed your work.

The download link is on the first screen of Oprela Floor in the browser, and on the kiosk, there's a "QR for App Download" button.

If Something Is Wrong

  • "Invalid login data" — check your card or PIN or ask the responsible person for a new one.
  • "Too many attempts" — wait 15 minutes.
  • "Kiosk not registered" — the kiosk is turned off or not configured. Contact the responsible person.
  • "QR code expired" — scan the current QR on the kiosk screen; it just changed.
  • "Service account not configured" — operator view from the phone has not been enabled yet. Contact the administrator.
